Dominion Metal

Category: Industrial buildings

This project was performed in the Turn-Key "Design-Build" proposal method. Preliminary layout and concept by TRIDÔME. Final design by architects hired by TRIDÔME. Building was designed for loose metal storage, processing and baled storage, along with ancillary facilities for staff. Loose metal is received at one end of building and dumped on concrete slab designed to receive high impact loads. Loader then pushes loose material into 16 feet high reinforced concrete bins. Once material is sorted it is then processed by a 56 foot long "baler-machine" with adjacent conveyor belt then process it. Once bales are produced they are fork-lifted to "finished goods" area awaiting shipping. Building is entirely built of reinforced concrete walls 16 feet high, around perimeter, with steel sandwich panels on outside.
